She was born April 9, 1931, in Wood County, a daughter of the late George and Ethel E. (Deem) Jenkins.
Mary was a 1949 graduate of Parkersburg High School. She enjoyed gardening, genealogy and watching football games. She also loved to spend time with her family.
Mary was the wife of the late John Pitts and is survived by their two sons, Steven E. Pitts and wife, Myra L. (George) and Scott E. Pitts, both of Vienna; three grandchildren, David E. Pitts and wife, Megan (Dennis), of Parkersburg, Stacie L. Pitts and Ashlee A. Pitts, both of Vienna; two great-grandchildren, Molly L. and Jaiden N. Pitts, both of Parkersburg; and one brother, James Jenkins and wife, Sue (Hammer), of Vienna.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Deem and Charles Jenkins; and two sisters, Dorothy (Jenkins) Black and Nancy (Jenkins) Eaton.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, with Pastor Dan Bryan officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
