Ashton J. Stevens Succumbs Today

Ashton J. Stevens, 88, life-long resident of Stafford county, died this morning at the home of his son.

He is survived by three children, Donnie C. Stevens, Stafford; Mrs. Emma Wilson, Spotsylvania and John E. Wilson [?], Canton, Ohio; six step-children; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at New Hope church and interment will take place in the family burying ground.

Pallbearers will be W. T. Deacon, Henry Edwards, L. W. Jett, C. S. Bourne, Isaac Silver and Henry Bourne.
