Raymond was born the son of Roy C. and Mae Burcumb Hatch.

He attended Norfolk school until he left to fo to work to help his family.

He married Evelyn Morrow who died in 1977.

Surviving was a brother, William of Silver Springs, FL: five sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Irma) Miller of Hopkinton, Mrs. Joseph (Carrie) Tucker, Mrs. Francis (Ruth)Jennie, Mrs. Leroy (Mildred) Tucker and Mrs. William (Jessie) Butterfield.

He was employed as a custodian at the Canton Unitariwn Universalist Church and was self-employed carpenter and a retired farmer.
