Fort Jackson —Roy C. Hatch, 83, of Fort Jackson, died on Thursday, Sept. 17 at Potsdam Hospital.

He was born in Mt. Clement, MI, on Oct. 26, 1881, a son of William and Gertrude Rhodes Hatch. He married Mae Burkum of Waddington Nov. 6, 1903. During World War 2 he worked in the shipyards at Santa Monica, Calif.; then moved to a farm in the Canton area and also worked at Alcoa for several years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Roy Hatch, Fort Jackson; two sons, William Hatch, Syracuse and Raymond Hatch, Canton; seven daughters, Mrs. Ruth A. Brothers, Mrs. Mildred Tucker, and Mrs. Lawrence (Gertrude) Eurto, all of Norfolk; Mrs. Margaret Janack, Potsdam; Mrs. Joseph (Carrie) Tucker, West Palm Beach, Fla.; Mrs. William (Jessie) Butterfield, Winthrop; and Mrs. Erma Miller, Potsdam; two sisters, Mrs. Ione Klagstad, Chicago, IL and Mrs. Jessie Bonham, Britain, SD; 32 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren and two nephews.

Burial was made in Fort Jackson-Hopkinton Cemetery.
