Mrs. May A. Burkum Hatch, 84, was dead on arrival at the Edward John Noble Hospital in Canton on Saturday, July17, 1971, following a two car accident which happened a short distance from the hospital.

She was born on Apr. 4, 1887 in Louisville, a daughter of Edward and Electa Roshia Burkum, She and Roy C. Hatch were married in Waddington on Nov. 6, 1903. They resided in Fort Jackson where Mr. Hatch was a farmer, and also an Alcoa employee. He died on Sept. 17, 1964. Since then Mrs. Hatch has been living in Potsdam. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Potsdam.

Mrs. Hatch is survive by two sons, William Hatch, Syracuse, and Raymond Hatch, Canton; seven daughters, Mrs. Francis (Ruth) Jenne, Hannawa Falls, Mrs. Lawrence (Gertrude) Eurto, Norfolk, Mrs. Margaret Janack, Potsdam, Mrs. Joseph (Carrie) Tucker, West Palm Beach, Fla., Mrs. Mildred Tucker, Norfolk, Mrs. William (Jennie) Butterfield, Winthrop and Mrs. Irma Miller, Potsdam. Also surviving are 35 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Burial was made in the Hopkinton-Fort Jackson Cemetery.
