Esther H. KLINEFELTER, 85, Kewanna, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Monday at Hickory Creek Nursing Home, Rochester.
Born in Clayton, Ill., to Tilden Stone and Malinda Crabtree, she married Verlin E. Klinefelter Sr. on May 18, 1940, in Quincy, Ill. He passed away on Aug. 2, 1993.
Mrs. Klinefelter was a homemaker and attended Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She was very active collecting antique buttons and glassware. She graduated from Versailles High School, Ill., in 1937, and moved to Kewanna in 1958.
Survivors include two sons, Verlin Klinefelter Jr. and his wife Anita, Nick Klinefelter Sr. and his wife Markeeta, all of Kewanna; one daughter, Linda Gottschalk and her husband Bill, Bonita Springs, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home, Kewanna, is in charge of arrangements.
