Mrs. Cornelia A. Adkins was born September 2, 1883 at Delevan, Illinois and passed from this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Priser, at South Bend, Ind. on Thursday, August 10 at the age of 83 years, 10 months, 1 ½ days.

She had been in failing health for over a year and was cared for by her daughter, Pearl, where she had made her home for several years.

Mrs. Adkins was united in marriage to Leonard Adkins on October 31, 1901. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, and three sons, Raymond, Harold and Paul. Also previously deceased were three sisters, Mrs. Jennie Ruth and Mrs. Delia Briggs of Onawa and Mrs. Minnie Bourn of Edwardsburg, Mich.

She had been a faithful member of First Christian Church in Onawa.

Besides her daughter, Pearl, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Susie Coddington of Plover, Wis. and Mildred Lawyer of Indianapolis, Ind.; three daughters-in-law, Mrs. Isabel Adkins Willey of Sioux City, Mrs. Bernadine Adkins and Mrs. Leah Adkins, both of Onawa; 13 grandchildren; a large number of great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 12 at the Pearson Funeral Chapel in Onawa, Rev. Albert Delbridge conducted the service. Mrs. Oliver Kelley was organist at the service.

Casket bearers were Joseph Stangel, Ora Townsend, Alvin Hyatt, Merle Mock, Gunnar Olson and Bernard Dugdale. Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery.

Attending services from out of town were Mrs. Adkins's niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Mangold of Edwardsburg, Mich
