John Phillips, 83, Somerville, Dies
John Phillips, 83, R.R. 1, Somerville, retired Butler county farmer, died of complications Sunday at 5:30 a.m. in his residence. He had been in failing health of several years.
Mr. Phillips was born in Laurel County, Ky., on Feb. 20, 1875, and had resided in Butler and Preble counties for the last 40 years.
He leaves his widow, Eva Helton Phillips; two sons, Jack C. Phillips, Harris Road, and Roy M. Phillips, Bradenton Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Ted Elliott, Somerville, and Mrs. Charles Asher, Hamilton; one brother, Henry Phillips, Millville; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) at Hamilton, with Rev. John Carter, pastor of the Somerville Methodist church, officiating. Burial was made in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Hamilton.
