Linetta Zimmerman
Linetta Elizabeth Zimmerman, the daughter of John Jacob Wagner and Elizabeth Bender Wagner was born on April 5, 1917 at Russell, and died suddenly at her home in Cuba, May 14, 1977 at the age of 60 years, one month and nine days.
Her early years were spent living near Gorham, as a young child she was baptized at St. John's Lutheran church in Russell, where on March 29, 1931 she was confirmed.
She was united in marriage to Fredrick William Zimmerman on June 21st, 1938, also at St. John's Lutheran church. They had five children. The family lived at Otis, for 14 years, then moved to Morrowville, where she lived for 24 years. She spent her last three years living in Cuba. During her lifetime she was a housewife, served as 4-H leader for four years, also as president of the Iowa Creek club, and was a professional seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Jacob Wagner, one brother Elmer Wagner, one son Alvin Dean Zimmerman who died on August 20, 1972, one grandson, John David Marschman, and one daughter-in-law Sherri Zimmerman.
Survivors are; her husband, Fredrick of Cuba; her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Wagner of Russell; four children, Mrs. Kathryn Henderson of Glasco; Mrs. Mary Marschman of Jansen, Nebraska; Mrs. JoAnn Moore of Morrowville; and one son Frederick Zimmerman, jr., of Cuba; one sister, Mrs. Helen Gideon of Russell; two brothers, Lyle Wagner of Hutchinson, and Paul Wagner of Russell; and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 16, from Tibbetts Bros. Chapel, Belleville with Pastor Del Meyer officiating.
Burial was in the Kopsa cemetery, Cuba.
