Born in Koblentz, near Pasewalk,Germany to Carl Gustav Fischer and Helene Alvenna Döbler Fischer. Baptized Auguste Friedericke Henriette Fischer. Sister to Ernest, Charles, Bertha, Mary, Fred and William. Immigrated to the United States with parents and 5 siblings from Hamburg, Germany aboard the German Steamship Polynesia and arrived in the Port of New York on April 14, 1888. The crossing took 3 weeks in stormy weather. They settled in Hadley Township, Lapeer County, MI. The farm was located at 3400 W. Newark Road. Wife of Adolph F.W. Wittstock. Adolph and Augusta had no children of their own, but did help raise two boys. Nephew Karl Moldenhauer, son of Adolph's sister Dorothea, after her death; and Harold Brown, son of a friend. Harold's mother died when he was 8 years old. Private Harold Brown, age 24, a member of the Army of the United States, was killed during WWII when the Allied Forces invaded Algeria, Africa incident to Operation Torch.
