Born in Koblentz, near Pasewalk,Germany. Daughter of Carl Gustav Fischer and Helene Alvenna Döbler Fischer. Baptized as Marie Helene Alvina Fischer, in Koblentz. Wife of Otto John Relitz. Mother of Edward, Herman, Helena, Bernice and twins; William & Wilma. Immigrated to the United States with parents and 5 siblings from Hamburg, Germany aboard the German Steamship Polynesia and arrived in the Port of New York on April 14, 1888. The crossing took 3 weeks in stormy weather. The family settled in Hadley Township, Lapeer County, MI. The farm was located at 3400 W. Newark Road.
