Rancher Arfsten Dies At 86 Funeral for Martin Arfsten of Petaluma will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Parent Funeral Chapel. The 86-year-old retired poultry rancher died at a local convalescent hospital yesterday after a short illness. He was a native of Alkersum on the Isle of Föhr who came to the United States in 1912. He settled in Southern Sonoma after living in Gustine, Merced County, for two years. For more than 50 years, Arfsten and his late wife, Elena, operated a poultry ranch. The family home was at 365 Gossage Avenue. Arfsten was a member of the Petaluma Grange. He is survived by a son, Clarence J. Arfsten of Petaluma; a daughter, Mildred P. Pietsch of Santa Rosa, five grandchildren and one great¬ grandchild. Inurnment will be private in Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma
