Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Bennett DeMore, 83, of William Jones Blvd. in Fayetteville, Tenn. were to be conducted today at 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Eugene West officiating. Burial was to follow in Gum Springs Cemetery. Mrs. DeMore died Saturday afternoon in Huntsville Hospital. A native of Lincoln County she was a daughter of the late A.M. and Mamie Bates Bennett. She was a member of the Baptist church, a beautician and a former employee of Amana Refrigeration. Survivors include one daughter, Vernell Lewter and husband Bobby, of Fayetteville; one son, Charles DeMore and wife Martia, of Nashville; one sister, Vernie Mae Campbell of Elora; seven grandchildren, Jimmy Jester of Decatur, Ala., Mike Jester, Vanatta Gentry and Bill Lewter, all of Fayetteville, Rachel and Becca DeMore, both of Nashville, and Susan Atchley of Harvest, Ala.; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
