John Garner, Jr. was the son of John Garner, Sr. (his will proven Jan. 1, 1703) and Susanna Keene Garner.

The date of John Garner, Jr.'s birth is unknown. He is believed to have been a small child, when he is first mentioned in the records of Northumberland County, Virginia on June 20, 1663. (Note: His name is mentioned on that date,
however this does not indicate that June 20th was his date of birth.)

John Garner, Jr. married Jane Joyce, daughter of Abraham Joyce. They had seven children: William, Abraham, John, Joseph, Jeremiah, Jane and Susanna.

John Garner, Jr. was a house carpenter/joiner.

He died early in 1713. His will was dated February 3, 1712. The will was proved March 25, 1713. The exact date of his death is unknown. (Note: March 25, 1713 was a court date. "At a court held for said county the 25th day of March 1713 the last will and testament of John Garner, dec'd, together with the codicil, thereto annexed, were presented unto Court by William Garner, Executor...."
