Philip Powell was married about 1769 to a German Lady, Julia Ann Miller, who had lately come from Germany.
pg 147 It's been said of Julia Ann Miller that she was a good woman; that she spent most of her time in secret prayer and reading the Bible, which was her daily companion; and that she died at peace with God and all around. Both parents, it is believed, belonged to the German Reformed Church.
pg 152. It may not be out of place to state that Mr. Miller was unfortunate in losing his kind companion, who died while making the voyage to America and was buried in the sea.
