Orville T. Caplinger, of 333 Jeniford Road, Fairfield, a retired carpenter, died yesterday in Park City hospital.
Services will take place Monday at 11 a.m. in the Rohm and Luchansky funeral home, 2180 Barnum avenue, Stratford, with the Rev. David Elkins, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Park cemetery.
Born in Hillsboro, Ohio, Mr. Caplinger had resided in Fairfield 20 years. He was a retired carpenter for the Harry Maring, Jr. Contractors in Bridgeport. He was a member of the Carpenters' Union Local 115, in Bridgeport. A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Cathleen Cordes Caplinger of Fairfield; one son, Dennis Caplinger of Fairfield; three brothers, Wilbur Caplinger of Ohio, Gilbert Caplinger of New Vienia, Ohio and Arthur Caplinger of Xenia, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Estel Spurgeon of Xenia, Ohio and Mrs. Hugh Fawley of Springfield, Ohio; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
