FREDONIA, Iowa - Services for Thomas C. Carey, 83, of Fredonia, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Carey died Tuesday at his home.
He had farmed in the Columbus Junction area since 1935. He earlier farmed in the New Boston Bay area in Mercer County, Ill.
He married Wilda Jebb in 1930 in Aledo, Ill. She died in 1982.
A memorial fund has been established.
Survivors include daughters, Juanita (Mrs. Sam) Sands and Erma (Mrs. Earl) Copelan, both of Fredonia; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Morrison, Columbus Junction; and brothers, Rex and Keith, both of Columbus Junction; and Robert, Aledo.
He also was preceded in death by a son, Cloyce, and a great-granddaughter, Brandi Jo.
