Satelyann (Lety Ann) Strickland-Hobbs... This is what I had started ....

This info below was posted by jrpv.. Then transferred to me....

Abstract from Laurel Grove Cemetery Keepers Book: Mrs. L. A. HOBBS died the 1st of December, 1903, and was buried the following day (no burial location given). She was a native of Georgia, aged 63 years, and a resident of 514 Margaret Street.Saletyann (Lety Ann) is the daughter of Elijah Strickland and Delilah Della Futch-Strickland. She married William Robert Hobbs in 1857. William Robert and Lety Ann were the parents of 11 children.

William Robert Hobbs died on the 6th of June 1897 at 58 years of age. Lety Ann Strickland-Hobbs died on 01 Dec 1903 at the age of 63. At the time of her death she was living with the Hobbs family. Lety Ann died of heart failure and was shown living at 514 Margaret Street in Savannah. The Hobbs's were shown, in a Savannah Directory, living at 512 and 514 Margaret Street.

Lety Ann's daughter Missouri married Bazel Wise. Missouri and Lety Ann are resting in Laurel Grove Cemetery-North. Mother and daughter are resting in Lot# 2521. Bazel is resting near Missouri.

Lety Ann's son William Henry Hobbs who had married Ann Jane Denmark is also resting in lot 2521.

I do believe Missouri and Bazel Wise had Lety Ann's headstone placed there. The headstone reads:

"Sacred to the memory of our darling Mother Lety Ann Hobbs. Born April 23, 1840 Died Dec 1, 1903. Aged 64 yrs 7 mos 9 dys.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life. He that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
St John 11:25"

A smaller marker about 8 inches wide and 15 inches long says only.. L.A.H.

Note: Our connection to Lety Ann is that her son-William Henry Hobbs with Ann Jane Denmark had a daughter- Anna L (Annie) Hobbs. Annie married William G Davis and they had a son named Hartman. Hartman is the father of Dawn Davis-Hays. Lety Ann is Dawn's Great Great Grandmother.
