Monica Baier
Garden City - Monica Baier, 85, Garden City, died Wednesday, May 17, 1989, at the Parklane Nursing Home, Scott City.
Mrs. Baier was born Monica Unrein on Dec. 9, 1903, in Munjor. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church.
Her husband, Joseph Jacob, died in 1987.
survivors include four sons, Joe of Kismet, Ray of Holcomb, Martin of Garden City and Victor of Colwich; three daughters, Irene Patton of Scott City, Anne Hover of Blue Springs, Mo., Barbara Hunter of Salina; a brother, Albert Unrein of Montrose, Colo., two sisters, Mary Applehanz of Montrose and Elizabeth Mitchel of Portland, Ore.; 24 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Garden City, the Rev Garry Richmeier officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at the Garnand Funeral Chapel, Garden City.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Inc.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
