Simon P Brick was born in New Prussia, Wilmot Township, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, on 3 Apr 1862. He was baptised at St. Agatha on 11 Apr 1862. Godparents - Simon Herres (son of Catherine Kaiser's sister, Klara) and Regina Meyer. He moved with his family to St. Cloud, Minnesota in about 1876.

He married Susan Lieser on 07 Feb 1888, in St. Cloud, Minnesota. They had six children one of whom (Leonard) died as an infant and one (Walter) died of tuberculosis at age 11. Susan died in 1925.

After finishing his education, he worked for Brandzinski Clothing Company of St. Cloud. In 1885 he moved to Little Falls, and was a bookkeeper and salesman for a brewing company for three years and then was appointed deputy county auditor. He served in that capacity for eight years. He was city clerk of Little Falls for five years. He then engaged in the fire insurance business until 1898 when he was elected clerk of Morrison County District Court and served until 1913. He was elected mayor of Little Falls in 1912 and resigned in 1913, when he accepted the position of postmaster of Little Falls. He served in that capacity until 1922. Later he was a jutice of the peace and engaged in the insurance business.

On 29 Nov 1928 he married Mary Rose Clark

In his later years, he lived with his daughter, Florence and her husband, Chic Jung, in St. Cloud.
