Dr. Ewin Peyton Biggs, aged 52 years, died at his home in Lutesville January 4 of heart failure. He had been in poor health for some time, but his condition did not indicate that the end was so near. He was able to look after his business up to a short time before he died.
Mr. Biggs was connected to several business enterprises besides his drug business, among them the Valley Telephone Co.
He was a member of the United Workmen; Odd Fellows; Maccabees and Masonic fraternities.
He leaves a wife and daughter and many friends to mourn his departure.
After a brief song service, Rev. Wm. Lowe offered a prayer at the residence and the Masonic lodge took charge of the remains and conducted the funeral service, the other orders participating in the procession. The remains were interred in the Slaybaugh Cemetery, and notwithstanding the bitter cold, a large number of people were present.
