Marion Louise (Van Horn) Martin, 84, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at the York Hospital.

She was born in Town Line, Luzerne County, Pa. on April 23, 1932, a daughter of the late William and Ethel E. (Reider) Van Horn.

Married to Lewis Martin for 49 and a half years, who has been deceased since March of 1999.

She moved to York in 1950 and to Loganville in 1954.

She ran the Springfield Bowling Center for many years, worked for Classic Carmel Co., Sears, and Rite Aid Pharmacy, Shrewsbury.

She was a member of Emanuel United Methodist Church, where she worked with the children's youth groups and taught the adult Sunday School class.

She graduated from Huntington Mills High School in 1948 and took a year business course at Coughlin High in Wilkes Barre.

She enjoyed sports, especially being a certified bowling instructor, and ran many Jr. Bowling leagues.

Louise was inducted into the York County Bowling Hall of Fame in 1985.

Louise is survived by two sons, Daniel R. Martin (Lari Beck) of Loganville, and Duane A. Martin (Kathy Paules) of York; a daughter, Darla K. Martin (Nicole LeBlanc) of Rock Hill, S.C.; four grandchildren, Cory, Chad, and Craig Martin and Nichole Hilt; seven great-grandchildren, Bryce, Madison, Nadia, Emma, Grant, Addison, and Christian; and a sister, Gloria J. Dillon of AZ; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Never to forget the many dear friends she has met over the years and her dear companion, Herb Baker.

She was predeceased by two brothers, a sister, and two sons, Donald W. Martin and Douglas L. Martin.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family requests you wear Louise's favorite color green, owls, or Phillie's gear to her service to help commemorate some of her favorite things.
