Ethel E. (Reider) Davenport Van Horn, 100, of Pleasant Acres Nursing Center, died Friday, October 22, 2010, at the home, following a brief illness.

She was the wife of the late William Van Horn.

Mrs. Van Horn was born August 7, 1910, in Shickshinny (Luzerne Co.), a daughter of the late G. Oliver and Eleanor Stroh Reider and had been raised by the late Bruce and Rosa Davenport.

She was a homemaker and had assisted her husband with the family farm in Luzerne County.

She was a former member of McKendree United Methodist Church, Shickshinny and attended Emanuel United Methodist Church, Loganville.

She was formerly of Luzerne Co., Phoenix, Ariz., Loganville and more recently the Strasburg Haus, Shrewsbury.

She is survived by three daughters, M. Louise Martin of Loganville, Betty A Royer of York New Salem, Gloria J. Dillon of Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two sons, William L. and James R. Van Horn; six grandchildren; and three brothers, Robert, Ralph and Harold Reider.

Graveside services will be held at Dodson Chapel Cemetery, Shickshinny.
