Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Monterey Methodist Church for Mrs. Vista Botkin Gillespie of Monterey who died suddenly Monday afternoon, Oct. 8. Interment was in Monterey Cemetery. Mrs. Gillespie was the daughter of the late G. Lee and Hannah Botkin and was born at Doe Hill on Oct. 11, 1885. She is survived by her husband, John R. Gillespie: two daughters. Miss Helen Gillespie of Arlington and Mrs. Victor (Velma) Judson of Brandywine, Md.; a foster-son, Lloyd Palmer of Waynesboro; her step-mother, Mrs. G. Lee Botkin of Doe Hill: one sister, Mrs. C. G. Barr of Bridgewater; two half-sisters, Mrs. Edna Beverage of Monterey and Mrs. Lena Varner of Doe Hill and two half-brothers, Walter Botkin of Doe Hill and Marvin Botkin of McDowell. Officiating at the services were Rev. Hugh L. Shiley assisted by Rev. A. E. Johnson. Mrs. Gillespie was a member of the Methodist Church and a life member of the Woman's Missionary Society.
