Virginia June Smith, 83, of Peoria, passed away at 6:53 am Wed., April 17, 2013 at her home.
She was born Jan. 26, 1930 in Tremont to Adam W. and Edith A. Riggs Rapp. She married Donald L. Smith on April 16, 1949 in Pekin, and he passed away July 14, 1995.
Surviving are one daughter, Diana L. Gibson of Peoria; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Ruth Widmer of East Peoria and Joann Callahan of Pekin; one brother, J. Donald Rapp of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Daniel and Dennis Smith;

She was a member of Tremont United Methodist Church.
June worked in Food Service Supervision for several years at Pekin Hospital, several area nursing homes, Bradley University, and Pleasant Valley Grade School.
A grave side service will be at 10:30 am Fri., April 19, 2013 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont. Pastor Molly Spence-Hawk will officiate. There will be no visitation. Davis Mortuary in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
