Mr. NATHAN EVANS, one of our best, purest, most respected and most honored citizens died at his residence near this town on the 12th inst., in the 79th year of his age. The deceased has left clad in the deepest mourning a large family connection, and numberless friends who weep bitterly over the cold sod that covers the remains of one of the kindest and bravest and most devoted of friends.

Note: Nathan Evans III was the son of Nathan Evans II (abt. 1763-1810) and Elizabeth Rogers (1782-1820) and was born September 18, 1805 in Marion at Oak Hall. He married 1st, Ann Eliza Baker (1811-1848) and 2nd, Harriet Elizabeth Braddy ( -1878). He and his 1st wife are buried in the Baker Cemetery in Marion Co.
