Harry Mouw, 95, of Orange City, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, Minn.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the First Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Steven Vander Molen officiated.

A graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of the Oolman Funeral Home.

Harry Jake was born Aug. 25, 1904, at Orange City, the son of Herman and Hattie (Wielenga) Mouw. He was raised on a farm north of Orange City.

On March 29, 1927, he married Wilhelmina A. Mouw at Orange City. They made their home in Orange City where Harry was employed by the Sioux County Road Department and the Sioux Rural Electric Cooperative.

He retired in 1969. They were currently residents of the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck. Mr. Mouw was a member of the First Reformed Church in Orange City.

He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed fishing. The couple spent many summers in Alexandria, Minn.

Survivors include his wife; three sons and their wives, Harlan and Clara Mouw of Alexandria, Minn., Marv and Delores Mouw of Sibley, and Jim and Audrey Mouw of Starbuck; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, Peter Mouw of Sioux City; two sisters, Hermina Bouma of Irving, Tex., and Leona Mouw of Alton; and nephews and nieces.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Peter H., and three sisters, Gertrude TerHark, Bertha Roetman and Arta Baier.
