ELDERLY MAN IS FOUND DEAD AT ROADSIDE

"Body of a 76-year-old Silverdale resident, possibly the victim of a heart attack, was found in a ditch beside the Clear Creek road near his home yesterday shortly before noon.

"The body of Warren W. Whitaker, Silverdale, was found by a passing motorist, Robert W. Staples, Silverdale.

"Coroner Al H. Segerquist and sheriff's detectives said Whitaker's body was in a partially water-filled drainage ditch in a face-up position. He had been dead for several hours.

"There was no evidence of foul play, and sheriff's detectives speculated that Whitaker suffered a seizure and fell into the ditch.

"The coroner's office said an autopsy was planned for this afternoon to determine the cause of death.

"Mr. Whitaker is survived by a daughter at Silverdale and a son in Bremerton."
