The death of Henry Whitaker, 95, last Friday, marks the passing of another Washington pioneer. Born July 21, 1836, in Iowa, Mr. Whitaker came to Washington a number of years ago, and settled at Whidbey Island. A farmer by occupation, he moved to Seabeck, and a year and a half later came to Port Orchard where he lived only a short time before being overtaken by death.

The deceased leaves to mourn his loss two sons, William and Sylvester, both of Seabeck, five daughters, Mrs. Jerry Mathews, Coupeville, Wash., Mrs. Myrtle Seider, New Jersey, Mrs. Vera George, Kansas, Mrs. Violet Tratt, San Francisco, and Mrs. Loretta Harper, Los Angeles.

Funeral services will take place today, Monday at 1 o'clock, at the Bremerton Funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Ivy Green cemetery.
