Vera Franklin, daughter of Reuben Carl Wysinger, a native of California and Cornelia Young, formerly of South Carolina. Vera was a Registered Nurse and Licensed Real Estate Broker, was born in Fowler, California. Attended Fresno State College, 1925-27; Member of The Native Californians Club organized in 1926. Vera Wysinger was the author of the Valley News column in The Western Outlook, an African American newspaper. Nurses Aid Course, Fairmont Hospital, San Leandro, California, 1930-31. Howard University and Freedmen's Hospital, 1932-35; UCLA, 1936-37. Married Samuel H. Franklin February 5, 1939. One child, Henry Carl, jazz musician. Vera was a member of Los Angeles Chapter, Chi Eta Chi.
