Henry Dan Buzzard was born on March 29, 1932, to Lloyd and Emma (Summerfield) Buzzard in Eucha, Okla. He went to meet his Heavenly Father on Dec. 4, 2009.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett. Burial was in the Emmett Cemetery.
He attended Ridenhour School through the eighth grade. He was a Cherokee Indian and very proud of his heritage. He was raised in Eucha until he was 20, when he met the love of his life Geraldine (Jerry) Jeffries. They were married Jan. 24, 1953, in Huntsville, Ark. and in 1967 they moved to Idaho.
They had seven children with four living, Francis (Jim) Frisbee, Jeanetta (Gerald) Meashintubby, Dan (Toni) Buzzard and Niki (David) Garcia; and a very special nephew, Robert Grigg who we've adopted into our family; 11 wonderful grandkids, and a special girl, Jessica Lyter who we've adopted as our own granddaughter; and 10 great-grandkids. Henry had five brothers, Otis (Eula) Buzzard of Cottage Grove, Ore., Levi (Sylvia) Buzzard, Delbert (Elsie) Buzzard, Harley (Cynthia) Buzzard and Albert (Gladys) Buzzard; two sisters, Claretta (Joe) Meadows and Viola (George) Moore, all of Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews whom are very special.
He was preceded in death by three children, two brothers, a sister and his parents.
He worked at the sawmill most of his life, after he retired he worked at Butte View School as a janitor. He never knew a stranger and was a friend to all. He was a very positive, loving and kind Christian man. He loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors. The last few years, he had had several strokes and was given excellent care at home by his loving wife and grandson, Alejandro. He is greatly loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He passed away peacefully at Walter Knox Memorial Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
