Prominent McLean County Citizen. Sister of former Illinois Governor Adlai Stevenson II.

Mrs. Ives was known affectionately as "Buffie."

Her husband Ernest Linwood Ives was in the U. S. Foreign service for 30 years.

Her grandfather was W. O. Davis the owner of The Pantagraph.

During World War II, Mrs. Ives organized and was captain of the first Red Cross Motor Corps of Moore County, North Carolina. She was a plane spotter.
