Stevenson, during his term as Vice President of the United States. Mr. Stevenson was chairman of the Illinois State Board of Pardons in 1913, during which term he introduced many desirable changes in the administration of the parole law. He was appointed Secretary of State in October, 1914, by Governor Dunne.
