Torrence Richard Biddle was the second of 9 children born to George Lee Biddle and Clara Louise Batt. Torrance was a twin. His twin brother, Calvin Cornelius, died at about six months of age. Other siblings included: Elnora Noreen, Orion Mathias, Clarabelle Louise, Hazel Deloris, Alberta Christine, Albert Jerome and Martha Jane.
