Mrs. Pearl Banister
Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl Jerman Banister, 80, of Clovis, will b e conducted at 2 p.m., Friday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Hunt officiating. Mrs. Banister died Wednesday morning at an Albuquerque hospital.

Born Feb. 16, 1895, in the Indian Territory at Purcell, Okla., she came to New Mexico in 1906 and homesteaded at Upton. She married Sylvester Leroy Banister on December 13, 1909 at Upton. The couple moved to Clovis in 1941. They had 17 children.
Survivors include eight sons, Ralph, Vester, Louis, Charles, and Grady, all of Clovis, Ersie and Elvin, both of Hobbs, and Melvin of Farmington; four daughters, Ruth Freeman, Melzine Worm and Alma Reams of Clovis and Gracie Rue of Ft. Worth, Tex.; one brother, Clarence Newman of Clovis; 54 grandchildren and 72 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 14, 1956; by a son, Ivan Banister, on Aug. 6, 1957; and by four children who died in infancy.
Burial will be in the Floyd Cemetery, under the direction of Steed Todd Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
