David was born August 3, 1945 in Corpus Christi, TX to Fred Leon and Gloria Jean Baker Marley. He was a 1963 graduate of Wichita Falls High School. On September 3, 1965, David and Barbara Jane Ridinger were married in Wichita Falls. His early years were spent on the baseball diamond, playing for WFHS, semi-pro ball, and later coaching his sons.
David proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, serving on the Navy Carrier U.S.S. Saratoga from 1966-67. He also served in the Navy Reserves until 1970. In 1987, David left the family business and formed David Marley Tile Company. He retired after suffering a stroke in 2008. David loved fishing, golfing, boating, and music, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Marley, 2 sons, Jeff Marley and his wife Jennifer and their three children Payton, Sean and Connor, and Scott Marley and his wife Melannie and their two children Ian and Maddie.
The family will be at the funeral home Monday evening 6:00-7:00 PM for visitation.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of Health South and the North Texas Rehab for their care of David following his first stroke 5 years ago and the staff of Hospice for their care these past weeks.
