ERNEST W. SHAFFER, 69, OF Marion, formerly of Charleston, W.Va., died Tuesday at home after a long illness. He was a truck driver and a member of the Teamsters union.

Surviving: [edited for privacy], two grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. today at Owenweilert Duncan Funeral Home, Marion, with the Rev. James Meek officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Marion. The family requests flowers be omitted.
