Obituary:
Beloved wife, mother, "Gram," sister, and friend; Barbara Fox Goodwin joined our Heavenly Father on April 13, 2012. Barbara Fox was born in Ada, Oklahoma on April 8, 1937. As a teenager, she gave her heart to Jesus at an Oral Roberts Tent Revival. On March 17, 1956 Barbara married Donald Goodwin, and together they brought up five children. After living in Oklahoma and Kansas, the Goodwin family moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 1970, where they made their home. Barbara became a local artist whose art is displayed locally and internationally. Barbara was a longtime member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, where she touched many lives with her beautiful alto voice. A passionate artist, her paintings reflect her love of God's creation surrounding her. She gazed daily in wonder at the awesome majesty of Pikes Peak, and marveled at the intricate beauty and divine design of wild birds. She knew in her heart and reminded others that every earthly splendor and detail displayed the glory of God. Her desire was to praise Him through her art. Barbara blessed the lives of little ones. Through her time teaching Sunday school and her many years of involvement at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Preschool, she was "Miss Barbara" or "Gram" to many children. Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, Donald Goodwin; five children, Don (Marilyn) Goodwin, Jeff (Valinda) Goodwin, Tim (Linda) Goodwin, Kathy (Robert) Martin, and Susie (Cliff) Butler; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; her older sister Helen Box of Liberal, KS, and younger brother Donald Fox of Texas. Barbara touched countless lives with music, art, and love - and her spirit lives on in her paintings and cherished memories. A memorial celebration will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 11:00 am at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 3010 W. Bijou, 80904. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Preschool.
