Helen Marie Box, 83, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS.
She was born March 10, 1931, at Ada, OK, the daughter of Thurman and Ola (Tollison) Fox.
She married Harold Eugene "Gene" Box on March 19th, 1947 at Ada, OK. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2007.
Helen and Gene moved to Pauls Valley, OK in 1951 where Gene was employed with Haliburton until transferring to Liberal, KS.
She was a homemaker, business partner, and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed reading and studying the bible and also was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. Helen had many artistic abilities and enjoyed oil painting, pastels, and other art mediums.
Her survivors include one son – David Box and wife Donita of Liberal, KS; one daughter – Sandra O'Riley and husband Michael of Sierra Vista, AZ; daughter in law – Tresha Box of Edmond, OK; nine grandchildren – Harold E. "Trey" Box III and wife Summer, Robert W. Box and wife Brandy, Anthony Bradford, Stacy Knowlton and husband Dale, Sarah Swearingen, Dustin Box and wife Dawnetta, Dominique Fischer and husband Eric, Delaney Holder and husband Kevin, Devon Box; 18 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son – Harold Eugene Box, Jr. in 2004; sisters- Lucille and Barbara; brothers – Eugene and Donnie.
A dual memorial celebrating the lives of Gene and Helen will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the First Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Jack Jacob celebrating.
The family suggests memorials to Cal Farley's Boy's Ranch and National MS Society in care of Miller Mortuary.
