The Burial of Mr. Bates.
Sunday afternoon the body of T. F. Bates was buried in Greenwood Cemetery in the presence of a gathering of relatives and friends. Rev. J. K. Smith officiated. The deceased was on his way home from the office of the L. R. & N. railroad, where he was employed, when he stopped at the corner of Spring and Fannin street to pluck a flower from a magnolia tree to take to his wife. In falling he sustained fatal injuries. He was a good citizen and a most estimable gentleman. He is survived by his wife and seven children. He was a brother of Mrs. T. B. Moss of Caspiana.
