Mystic man dies in crash
Unionville, Ia. - A Mystic man was dead on arrival at the hospital in Centerville Saturday after the car in which he was riding went off a gravel road and overturned about three miles west of here.
Appanoose County sheriff Ron Powell identified the victim as Clyde Kenneth Krum, 67, a long-time Mystic resident.
Powell said Krum was a passenger in a 1978 Pontiac being driven by Sharon Lee Thomas, 35, of 116 1/2 West Jackson, Centerville.
Powell said the car was eastbound on county road J-27 at about 12:55 p.m. as it topped the crest of a hill. The vehicle went into a ditch and rolled about 45 feet down an embankment. The accident happened near the Lee Moffatt residence in Udell Township.
Krum was dead on arrival at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Centerville.
Thomas was admitted for observation. She was later charges with failure to have control and OMVUI.
