Mrs. Lois Carter Dudley Hopkins, 80 of 607 W. Roseboro Street, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Rev. Earl Kinlaw and Rev. Paul E. Honeycutt officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg.

Mrs. Hopkins was born on August 17, 1932 in Sampson County to the late Wade Lucian and Isabel Norris Carter and was the widow of the late Glendon Lorane Dudley and the late Bill Hopkins. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She will always be remembered for her kindness and unconditional love for all. Her life was devoted to her family.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Gladys Williamson, Annie Lee Balance, Margaret Evelyn Carter and Elsie Mae Carter.

She is survived by: five children, Wade G. Dudley and wife Sue of Winterville, Michael G. Dudley and wife Deborah of Roseboro, Johnny L. Dudley and wife Diane of Roseboro, Lisa Royal and husband Darrell of Salemburg and Lorrie Jackson Cannady of Salemburg; eight grandchildren, Julia Shook, William M. "Billy" Dudley, Gabriel Dudley, Glen Dudley, Lorane Gilmore, Wayne Royal, Loretta Dudley and Amelia Jackson; seven great grandchildren, Wade, Chris and Kaitlyn Dudley, Garion and Fiona Shook, Ryder Lee Dudley and Ransom Gilmore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
