Death Notice for Elizabeth Tran
SEBEWA CENTER
(From our Correspondant)
Elizabeth Tran died Oct. 16, aged 71 years, 6 months and one day. She was born in Lorain Co., Ohio, April 15 1835 and was the youngest of 10 children, all of whom are dead except one.
On May 14, 1852, she was married to Emanual Tran and would have been married 50 years had she lived until next May. From this union, 11 children have been born, 8 of whom survive her. They are: Albert, Matthew, Elim, Isaac, Mrs. Henry Pettingill, Mrs. Sarah Congleton, Mrs. John Cole, Mrs. Walter Ralston. All but Isaac, who lives in the north part of the state, were present at the funeral. She also leaves 33 grandchildren.
While living in Canada, she became converted and united with the M.E. church there. In 1866 they came to Michigan, settled in Sebewa two years later, where they have since resided.
Mrs. Tran had been sick for several months and during the last few weeks of her illness was a great sufferer, but bore up with great patience. Funeral was held from the Center church, conducted by the pastor, I. T. Welden.
