William "Bill" Henderson Kite was a son of Henderson Kite 1831 – 1873 and Hila Hiley Highla Hylie Kite 1836 – 1916. His siblings were: John R Kite 1857 – 1931; Catherine Parthena Althena "Polly" Kite 1859 – 1921; Robert Kite 1860 – 1887; Martha 'Alice' Allis Allace Kite 1865 – 1945; George Rufus "Rufe" Kite 1867 – 1954; Tillman A Kite 1870 – 1888; Martin Hickman Kite 1871 – 1950; Soleta Sleety Kite 1873 – 1884; Carrie Carie Francis Kite 1875 – 1964.

In 1880 Bill was living at home in District 6, Greene, Tennessee. He and three other borthers were working on the home farm.

On March 2 1883, William Henderson Kite, in a wedding ceremony claimed Mary Octavia (Tave) Ingles as his bride. From this union Bill and Mary were blessed with 13 children. They were: Joseph Francis Kite 1884 – 1939; Alfred Claude Kite 1885 – 1969; Bessie Elizabeth Kite 1887 – 1887; Dora Alice Kite 1888 – 1966; Nora Ellen Kite 1888 – 1943; Leslie N Kite 1889 – 1951; Carrie Belle Kite 1890 – 1975; Hila Florence Kite 1891 – 1985; Emma Lee Kite 1893 – 1893; Minnie Lou Kite 1894 – 1940; Dovie Kite 1896 – 1967; Gracie Maude Kite 1898 – 1906; Leonette Kite 1899 – 1961; Willie Jay Kite 1903 – 1972 and Josie Beatrice Kite 1905 – 1973.

By 1910 Bill and Mary had moved to Texas where he rented a farm on Allen and Frisco Road in Justice Precinct 1, Collin, Texas.

William Henderson Kite's untimely death at 47 years old came on Jan 15, 1912. It was a very sad day for Mary and the family. History does not tell us the cause of his death. A burial plot was selected for him at the Williams Cemetery, where Mary, her children and friends gathered to bid their beloved husband, father and friend to "Rest in Peace" (bio by Audrey DeCamp Hoffman)
