REED – George W. D., 77, 320 Glessner Road, died at 10:20 a.m. May 17, 1975, at Mercy Hospital. Born March 20, 1898, in Brush Valley, Indiana County, son of Hesekiah S. and Rebecca (Wagner) Reed. Survived by widow, former Ida E. Rovan, and these children: Eleanor, wife of John D. Sipko, 511 Belmont St.; Mary Jane, wife of John Kralik, Woodvale Heights; James G., married to former Norma Cornelius, Westminster, Calif.; and Patricia, wife of John H. Teeter, 522 Glessner Road; also 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Brother of Floyd C., Berlin. Member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church and Richland Post 849, American Legion, and charter member of Ideal Volunteer Fire Company. Navy veteran of World War I. Retired employee of Johnstown Works, U.S. Steel Corp. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew’s Church, the rev. Msgr. Joseph Fleming. Interment, Grandview Cemetery, rosary at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
