Brillion – Mrs. Martin Bastian, Brillion passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Bellin Memorial Hospital, Green Bay. She had suffered a fractured hip some time ago and had never completely recovered. She was 87 years old.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church. The Rev. James. Car?? Officiated at the rites. Burial was in the Memorial Park cemetery, Appleton.

Mrs. Bastian was born in Brillion town June 8, 1864, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Timm. She was married at the Brillion Methodist church in 1887 to Martin Bastian. The couple lived on a farm until their retirement 25 years ago.
Mrs. Bastian was a member of the Brillion Methodist church, and the oldest charter member of the Women’s League of Christian Service of the church.

Survivors include two sons, Arthur and Walter Bastian of Brillion, three daughters, Mrs. Alice Kuecher of Manitowoc, Mrs. Ray Zahn of Brillion and Mrs. Ella Good of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Katie Krueger of Forest Junction and Mrs. Hannah Wolfmeyer of Green Bay, ten grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
