Robert D. "Bobby" Venden, age 73, passed away peacefully in Stoughton on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003. He was born on Aug. 3, 1930, in Deerfield, a son of the late Clarence and Edna (Anderson) Venden. He lived at Orchard Hill in Madison for 22 years and moved back to Stoughton in 1996. Every day, Bobby looked forward to going to work at the Stoughton Marc Center, and also enjoyed listening to old country music on the radio, dancing, and bowling. He loved going on outings with family and friends, especially the trips to McDonald's for a chocolate milkshake. The family would like to thank the staff at RFDF and the many friends and staff at the Stoughton Marc Center for their care and friendship, and a special thank you to Dan Bedner and Tom Snell. Bobby is survived by three sisters, Dors Obrecht and Carol (Don) Moe, both of Stoughton, and Joan (Ole) Holman of Edgerton; his brother, Howard (Carol) Venden of Davenport, Iowa; his brother-in-law, Omar A. Lee of Stoughton; many nieces; nephews; and extended family, Dan Bedner and Tom Snell. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Clarice "Kelly" Lee and Elizabeth "Betty" Smithback; and two brothers-in-law, James D. Obrecht and Claude Smithback.
