Clinton Herald Monday April 19, 2004 p. 9A Mary E. Disbrow, 95, of Clinton, died Saturday at the Alverno Health Care Facility. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Episcopal Church, North Chapel, the Rev. Gary Dalmasso will be officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Larry Leonard, Walt Bell, Dan Mabee, Barney Hulburt, Robert Leedham and Stephan Griffith. She was born Jan. 5, 1909, in Clinton to William and Ethel Chenoweth Disbrow. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1926 and Grinnell College in 1930. From 1930 to 1931, she attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison where she received a certificate in library science. She graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn., where she received a certificate as physical therapist from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine at Madison in 1947. She also received a certificate in medical library science from the Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., in 1952. She completed 14 years of service in the U.S. Navy where she worked as a registered nurse, physical therapist and librarian. Since 1949, she worked as a librarian for various medical hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin and Nebraska; she retired in 1970. Shurvivors include cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister. Memorials may be made to Christ Episcopal Church. Death Date: April 17, 2004.
