"Henry A. Heit, of 669 Spring Garden street, clerk at the cigar stand at the L. K. Liggett Company store, 406 Northampton street, died at 7:45 this morning, at the Easton Hospital, in the 65th year of his age. He was admitted to the hospital for medical treatment on Wednesday. Mr. Heit was born in Easton August 19, 1865, and llived here all his life. He was formerly in the employ of the Ingersoll-Rand Company; then served for 12 years as janitor of the City Guard Armory and for the past four years had been employed by the Liggett Company as cigar clerk. He was a Democrat in politics and at the primaries in 1928 was a candidate for the nomination for mayor on that ticket. Deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Caroline Heit, and by two children, Herbert, of Philadelphia, and Margaret, living aat home. He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Sylvenia Bentz and Mrs Sue Burke, of Easton, and Mrs. George Miller, of Bethlehem. Mr. Heit was a member of Trinity Evangelical church; Black Nights Commandery, No. 109, Knights of Malta, and Excelsior Council No. 26, Jr. O> U> A> M., of this city. He had many friends in this city and among the members of the local National Guard companies he was most popular."
