Funeral services for Clifford J. (Whitey) Moore are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Brown & Butz Funeral Home, Rev. Edwin Pile, of the Lapel Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at the East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson.
Mr. Moore was born in Lapel Feb. 9, 1926, the son of Clifford R. and Rowena Stottlemeyer Moore. He resided in Anderson and Middletown area all his life. He was a member of the Lapel Methodist Church and served in the Pacific Theater with the Marine Corps during World War II.
The deceased is survived by his wife Veronica; his mother of Lapel; on son [step-son], Delbert G. stationed at Camp Pendleton , Calif., with the U.S. Marines; a brother Wilbur of Lapel; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Arlene) Pettigrew and Mrs. Phillip (Betty) Hesson, both of Lapel; and several nieces and nephews.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home until 1 p.m. Tuesday, where friends may call.
